2019 Top women’s swimwear and bikini trends

Even though winter is slowly fading away, right now is the best time to dive into this year’s biggest swimsuit trends. Swimsuit manufacturers make a limited amount of bikinis and bathing suits each year, resulting in the trendiest styles going out of stock in early spring.

Miami Swim Week gave us an opportunity to get an exclusive peek at some of the upcoming swimwear collections by the hottest brands. Even though retro styles dominated the bathing suits trends for 2019, there were some other trends that you will need to have on your radar to look like a beauty queen this summer.

Retro cuts

Add a touch of vintage flair to your swimwear style this summer with sexy high leg cuts and high-waist bikinis. Out of the five bathing suit trends this year, this one dominated, so make sure to stock up on this must-have swim essential.

Why we love this look? We love the extra coverage that comes with the retro style, but at the same time it accentuates all of your curves perfectly. Plus retro styles look amazing on all body shapes, actually the curvy body shape the better.

How to get the look:

Give off that vintage vibe with this solid, fire-red one-piece swimsuit with a shoulder tie. This classic vintage look can easily be adjusted for exact fit, thanks to the shoulder ties.

Be the belle at the beach this summer with this glamorous vintage one-piece by Lauren Ralph Lauren. The striking white halter straps add an eye-catching contrast to the ruched black one-piece.

Retro prints

Besides considering retro high-waist cuts, you need to watch for retro prints. Often retro cuts are combined with vintage prints such as polka dots and pinstripes. Expect to see retro prints everywhere and not just on your swimwear.

Why we love this trend? Stripes and polka dots look amazing but when mixed with multi-colored beach wear options they look fantastic. Plus, stripes have a tendency to fool the eye into making us look slimmer.

How to get the look:

How can you not love this unique vintage Polka-Dot Bikini Set with a cute bow detail?

We love the flirty ruffles on this Ziggy Frill Bandeau bikini top, plus the thin pinstripes are ultra-mega flattering on all body types.

Textured and mesh fabrics

Last year, textured and mesh fabrics dominated the fashion world but this year, they have stepped over into our swimwear and we are thrilled. Our favorite look is a ribbed texture.

Why we love this trend? First off, textured and mesh fabrics are extremely comfortable and can easily be transitioned from beachwear into casual street wear. Many of these styles can double as a bodysuit or as a sleek bikini top under a sheer top.

How to get the look:

If you want to get noticed at the beach or pool this year, then you need this smocked, bright orange strapless cut-out one-piece.
